Mystery Aeroplane 飛行機の謎
Although small and of of poor quality these photographs show an abandoned Japanese aeroplane found at Meiktila in Burma by advancing Allied troops.
It carries the tail code "C1-05". What is it?

Your mystery plane looks like a "Babs" or a Mitsubishi C5M Type 98 Land Reconnaissance. The spatted wheels and the long greenhouse are the key ID points.

Thanks Carlos. You are the only person who has ventured a suggestion for this aircraft's identity and it is a good one.
However, the aircraft is actually a Mitsubishi B5M1 "Mabel".
Hi Nick! I was just gonna e-mail you to say it's a B5M when I noticed the "2 comments" link :)
These surprise shots are some of only a very few photos of operational Mabels. Thanks.
