What a Thing of Beauty!

This is a teaser image of the new-tool Airfix Gloster Gladiator due out at the end of this month. But what is it doing here?  In a word - or three words actually - Chinese Gladiator Aces!

It does indeed look lovely. I was going to go for the Sword kit, but I definitely have to wait until this is released. Looking forward to learn about the Chinese Gladiators!

As someone has pointed out in a modelling forum (72nd aircraft, if I remember correctly), Airfix seems to be improving the fabric simulation on the wings. The member who posted such comment said the new Gladiator kit looks even better in this regard than the praised Swordfish.

The first kit I ever built was an Airfix Gladiator, some 55 years ago. And now there is a new one that looks very good! On the web I saw a set decals in 1/72 & 1/48 for the Gladiator in Chinese service-'Bestfong' decals.
I already ordered a set for the P1Y1 in Chinese colours, they have some more for other WW2 kits.

regards,
Jacob.

Thanks Jacob. There is a link to Bestfong Decals on the side bar of this blog which shows the Gladiator decals! They have an excellent range of Chinese Air Forces decals and can be ordered from in confidence.
