Hat tip to Vedran for alerting AoJ to this forthcoming injection moulded release of the IJN Type 90 Nakajima A2N3 carrier fighter in 1/48 scale by A.B.&K of Ukraine - sprue shots and other details may be found at Britmodeller. A good scale for this type and a fitting IJN rival to Fine Molds excellent Ki-10. From the box art decal options will be for aircraft from the carriers Kaga and Ryujo.
In 2001 Fine Molds released a neat little kit of the A2N1-2 in 1/72 scale (above) with a separate photo-etch set AA-16 which includes rigging. Both are currently in stock at HLJ.

I'm thinking that at the rate things are going, we will see 1/48 Ki-30 and Ki-32 kits before a Ki-46II or Jake. Just happy to see Fine Molds, Wingsy and now this company picking up the slack from Hasegawa and Tamiya...
Dan
Thanks Dan. Lack of internal detail data might hold back those two spatted bombers from getting the current kit cockpit treratment but a Ki-36/55 in 1/48 would be nice!

Nick
I concur! Would also love to see a Ki-79 kit in 1/48, single and two-seater. One can dream, right....
Dan
PS I realize that the Ki-79 isn't far off from the Ki-27, but after all the scratch-building I've done on vehicles over the past 5 years building something new tool and out of the box is like a treat.
Thanks Dan. While I understand the joy of quarter scale modellers with this release, I've been waiting for a 1/72 scale kit of this biplane fighter literally for ages... I hope some company will take care of that soon.

Ruy
Fine Molds already do a 1/72 A2N1-2! It's a nice little kit if you can live without the 5° dihedral of the A2N3.
I've added the box art to the blog.

Nick
Thank you very much, Nick. You are absolutely right! I was thinking of the A4N1, the last biplane fighter fielded by the IJN, an improved derivative of the A2N3! Sorry for the confusion.
As for the Fine Molds A2N1-2 1/72 kit, I actually never got it! I will order one now.

Ruy
Thanks for sharing, Nick.
